What Do We Know for Certain?? Experts, Authorities, Scientists are often Dead WRONG

do i know anything for certain?yes!when so-called "authority" predict the future - they are wrong.and yet - we always believe them.

@ Cofy...at first I was going to argue your statement, but you know? You're right. A lot of those statements were supported by scientific facts. Still are in most cases. The problem was there wasn't a complete picture of the problems. Not enough study to formulate a proper conclusion. Just one side was researched and pushed to the extreme.

I see this same failed agenda today pushing global climate change caused by man-made CO2 emissions. See, I don't deny climate change. What I deny is the influence man has on it.

I noticed the signature at the bottom is for the 'Account Servant". If my memory serves me correctly, it used to say 'Elder". So, does that mean an Account Servant is now in charge of the operation committees expenses? If so, that is a fairly big change imo.

Jesus to rule for 1000 yrs yet he started in 1914?

i believe when we were in the jw cult, our brains and thoughts were hijacked by the governing body.

i truly believe the gb thinks all members are stupid and they laugh at them in their wednesday morning secret meetings.. one such teaching that i never heard anyone bring out or question yet the absurdity and contradiction is blatantly obvious is: revelation chapter 20 says that christ will reign for 1000 years.

it doesn't say he will reign more than a thousand yrs but only 1000 yrs.

'Experiences(tm)'! Made up or totally true??

at one assembly(tm), i was asked to relate an 'experience(tm)' which i did.

however, during rehearsals, the geezer in charge elder or co or some such title, told me that i shouldn't tell it the way it was.

i did a 're-enactment(tm)' with another 'brother(tm)'.

OMG! I thought I was the only one. I had to give an experience at an Assembly some 13 years ago. By the time the Circus Overseer 'changed' a few things to make it more 'appropriate' for us locally, it only superficially resembled what actually happened. In fact, the made up version that the friends saw now became the true version. Why do I say this? Because I had more than a few people who knew the real situation ask me why I didn't tell them all of this made up crap originally. Worse part, we were 'instructed' to not tell anyone that the CO changed the experience! So we basically had to now lie to everyone that this made up version was always the truth.

What Do You Think About Banning Plastic Bags?

we need to save the planet so we have to stop using plastic bags!

in massachusetts, the new law will be going into effect soon.

if you go food shopping, you only cat get paper bags.. what is your opinion of the state banning plastic bags?

I use plastic shopping bags for everything. They are my waste bags in the house like some have previously stated, I use them for "organizers" in my truck, and anything else I can think of. I have even made cheap kites out of them in the springtime for fun.

Questions About the Watchtower's View on Blood Transfusions.

i admit to not being very well informed about the watchtower's view on blood transfusions.

i have a couple of questions that i hope someone here is able to answer.. i understand that the watchtower now considers it to be okay to receive blood fractions.. my first question is: are all fractions considered to be permissible?

and if not, specifically which fractions are not permissible?.

I was just in the hospital last month and needed a plasma infusion. Long story short, they didn't have my blood type on hand and it was an emergency situation. Because of laziness on my part, I never had my medical records updated on me NOT being a JW. (That is fixed now) I awoke to some judgemental asshole from the hospital liaison committee asking why I was hooked up to plasma. He even came right out and said to me, "You know you are sinning against Jehovah?" Before I had the hospital staff throw his ass out, I told him, "Oh, no you are mistaken! I had the hospital put all the acceptable fractions together in one bag, and that is what they are giving me." Here I am suffering from major blood loss and all he could think was I might be taking something not on the approved list!
